Operation: Tidebreaker [Patch 6.0.2, Blasted Lands] Lzcp1k10

14th of October, 31 years since the opening of The Dark Portal, two hours past midnight:
Distress beacon above Nethergarde Keep of Blasted Lands is lit. Scouts are sent to investigate.

15th of October, 31 years since the opening of The Dark Portal
News of Blasted Lands reach Stormwind. The Dark Portal have turned red through which hundreds of brown skinned Orcs with siege weaponry never seen before are pouring into Azeroth. Nethergarde Keep and Okril'lon Hold have fallen. Azeroth is under invasion.

157th Company gain orders to reassemble. By leadership of Captain Inran of Kor'khat, the unit starts to rebuild it ranks from months of existing only as words on paper.

The orders are to recruit until the unit is fit to engage active combat in field.

Once the Company is prepared to join the combat, the orders are to join the other Alliance forces to fight against the Invasion.

Operation: Tidebreaker [Patch 6.0.2, Blasted Lands] Bjmy7p10

Military Report
Date: 29.10 [31] sdp

The 157th Company set to march out from Stormwind towards Blasted lands roughly at midnight. Traveling by ground through Elwynn Forest, turning around in Redridge Mountains, heading through Duskwood, turning to travel through Deadwind Pass at Darkshire before stopping and making camp at The Harborage, a Draenei/Krokul settlement in Swamp of Sorrows.

The Company fell under assault by an Iron Horde warband roaming through the swamps yards away from The Harborage. The Company made a hasty retreat to The Harborage in chaos, yet organized to a firm defense against the Warband - now lost their advantage of surprise.

The warband fled back into the swamps after losing a portion of their ranks against the organized defense of the Company. The 157th is set on to hunt the remnants of this group down before proceed further into active Warzone down south.

Room for improvement: The Company was ill-prepared against the sudden assault from the Swamps by the Warband. Need to practice how to deal with a sudden, unexpected assault and be more alert in zones beyond Alliance law.

-Signed: Captain Inran of Kor'khat.

OOC:A Bunch of Campers, a Horde WPvP guild attacked the Tempest by the last meters to The Harborage. We wiped at the start, most people being unprepared for the assault. By the help of level 100 guards however we managed to fight them off. Still, the Tempest have some improvement to be had to be able to take the stand against Gankers in an open-world environment when Guards are not available for defense.]

Green: Starting Point
White: 157th Company Scouting Squad
Blue: 157th Company Fighting Squad
Red: Iron Horde Encampment
Black: Iron Horde Siege Tanks

Our scouts reported Iron Horde activity in the area, so the 157th Company set to march out from The Harborage to Misty Valley at evening for a reconnaissance and scouting mission. However lack of communication between Scouting Squad and the Fighting Squad quickly led to a disorganized situation, resulting in Fighting Squad being detected by the Iron Horde.

Chaotic situation developed quickly as Fighting Squad was forced to fight for their retreat. Scouting unit managed to assasinate a high ranking Iron Horde officer before joining with the Fighting Squad. With arrival of reinforcements, 157th company managed to hijack a siege engine and cover their retreat without any casualties.

Operation: Sick Leave

Operation: Tidebreaker [Patch 6.0.2, Blasted Lands] 1zfil5k

Military Report
Date: 30.10 [31] sdp
The 157°Unit Wild Tempest was asked to take care of a scouting team ambushed by the orcs. I (Sergeant Nihilia) agreed to assemble a rescue team.

Our first move was to follow the scouting route of the victims, which soon led us to an human corpse. Upon inspecting it we discovered a report in which it was stated that "something" attracted their attention, and had thus diverted from their routes. Before leaving we discovered the corpse was infested with fel energies, which I then destroyed with the light, among the corpse. So that it would not taint the earth and the other fallen.

halfway trough our new destination, we found a rune drew on the ground. The minister of magic (whom followed us) reconised it as a trap and diligently disarmed it without effort.

Right past it, a box abandoned by the river. We all suspected it was a trap, and that it was to be disarmed carefully, but sergeant Phinleas kicked it, triggering a trap that shot projectiles all over the unit. Only one was wounded, and not severely, but it was a reckless and unreasonable move not fit to an officer.

Inside the box, an experimental voice recorder, damaged by the trap. Thanks the light it still worked, directing us to our next destination that we argued on how to reach without crossing the horde's base.

Soon after unnatural paranormal activities began to take place, leading us to a cave guarded by demons and demonic runes. From there on it was clear that this was not the work of any orc of sorts, but of the legion's, changing our plans and priorities completely.

The fight with the demons was long and inconclusive, if we survived it we owe it to miss.Calamity (the minister of magic) whom destroyed the demons with a powerful spell, allowing us to go on.

Upon reaching the cave, reinforcements came in the form of Raene and her druidic colleague, which however could not pass the protective shield right away.

With the help of the ebon-blade death knight Jose, miss.Calamity casted a rune that deactivated the protective field. The druids cleaned the path as we came inside.

Within the cave, a sacrifice was taking place. The victim was an alliance magi with dalaran affiliations, and her soul was already being re-purposed. Miss.Calamity casted another spell, a very powerful and esotic one, which froze the ritual in time, just before it could be completed. Miss Raene sealed the cave and wardens are currently guarding the collapsed entrance.

Other confidential information regarding this operation shall be shared trough voice and/or sealed documents and only among high ranked officers.

Room for improvement:
Sergeant Nihilia here writes that sergeant Phineas acted with little reason and responsibility towards the unit when faced with the issue of proceeding trough traps.

-Signed: Sergeant nihilia

Operation: Ending the hollowed

Operation: Tidebreaker [Patch 6.0.2, Blasted Lands] Headless-horse-over

Military Report
Date: 31.10 [31] sdp
The base was attacked by a spirit discovered to be the HeadlessHorseman. I (Sergeant Nihilia) assembled a team to counter the threat. We fought it for a while to then manage to force him to retreat.

However, I decided to pursue the creature, and with the help of knight Cynthia (whom was able to sense his undead aura), chased the ghost all the way to Darkshire, where we had our final battle.

After many blows from each side, the minister of magic Calamity opened us a way to deal the final blow.

The wounded were collected and the unit returned back to the swamp of sorrow safely.

Room for improvement:
The soldiers REALLY needs equipment proper to fight ghosts and demons.

-Signed: Sergeant nihilia

Okril'lon Hold has been reclaimed by The Iron Horde.

Shattered Beachead is held by the Alliance, the battle rages by without showing signs of going to either direction.

Shattered Landing is contested, the Horde slowly losing against The Iron Horde

The Red Reaches are by most part empty.

Sunveil Excursion have been made camp by The Ironbreaker Council.

Surwich, while damaged, is held by the Alliance.

The Tainted Forest remain empty, being cleared multiple times. The way for the Iron Horde to the area remain unblocked.

4.11
The Alliance have pushed forward, clearing a path through the battlefront raging by the Shattershore, managing to get a group of cannons on position by the small hill where a Spyglass once stood. The front have pushed forward and the battle rages even more intense as the Iron Horde seek to claim the ground lost back, but are for now held back by the Cannons

Inran of Kor'khat, one of the Field Marshall of the Call to Arms of Alliance is reported dead following said assault.

The Tainted Forest's Tree is claimed and brought under control of the Alliance by the Kaldorei and their allies. The northern (and some of southern mushrooms) remain contested.

Shattered Landing is being pressed hard by the Iron Horde. The Ironbreaker council have been fend away by a barricade constructed. Without aid, the foothold of the Horde will soon be lost.

5.11

The Alliance sent a team to scale up the mountains east of The Dark Portal, going on the mountain shelf and taking out Iron Horde Grenadiers who were bombarding Shattered Landing and protecting the barricade the Iron Horde had constructed. Bombarding the barricade with "liberated" Iron Horde bombs, allowing the Ironbreaker Council to push forward and reclaim Shattered Landing. The Alliance escape route was meanwhile blocked by an Iron Horde army, but The Ironbreakers came to aid and together they annihilated the Iron Horde blocking Alliance retreat.

Shattered Landing is clear of Iron Horde, once more in Horde control. The mountains nearby have been cleared of Iron Horde... for now.

Salara stood firm atop the craters edge, her cloak thrashing behind her as the arid desert air cut across her face, the chaotic swirling energies of the crimson portal disturbing the sands and lashing it across her bare skin. Yet she did not flinch, she did not squint or move to protect her face from the sandblasting, she defied it. If she bent to the winds, then what hope did she have against the Iron Horde awaiting her on the other side? If she showed weakness, then what hope could she instill in the soldiers who'd agreed to charge through the portal with her?

With the Ironmarch Vanguard in disarray, the Second and Third Platoon rejoined the infamous First Platoon, the Wild Tempest, by the rim. A sea of blue in stark contrast to the blood stained maroon sands below the red portal. Their clothes were tattered, their leathers slashed, the chains broken and their plate caved in. Beaten, bloodied, but standing before their Captain, as ordered.

The Captain had already given her speech to the best of her men. They wouldn't be in the Tempest if they weren't competent enough to be there. Even the rookies showed great promise for the future, but the 2nd and 3rd weren't hardened Soldiers or aspiring greenhorns, they were peasants in plate, people past their prime, men and women in ill fitting armour without the skill or natural talent for warfare. As she opened her mouth to speak, the words flowed freely, yet she could not hear herself, merely moving back into her own mind as she wondered how she ended up in this situation.

The actions of the 157th had become legendary within the streets of the Alliances grand cities. "Wild Tempest, storming the front". The valiant heroes who stormed Orgrimmar and survived. In the period of peace post the Siege of Orgrimmar, Captain Inran and her forces became the poster children for Alliance recruitment efforts.

Operation: Tidebreaker [Patch 6.0.2, Blasted Lands] Temp_010

Tachal Stormclaw and the Windfury Brothers, terrorising the Orcish lines with the raw power of nature inspiring the Elves within Darnassus. The Draenic Light wielding champions, guardians of the Naaru Karkoom, Huruma, and Nihilia were recalled of fondly within the Worlds End Tavern. The Strongbrew family's contributions to the war effort was rumoured to raise eyebrows as well as tankards even as high as the Council, with the Dwarves stalwart counterparts harnassing the designs of the DAMNIT Gnomes within Gnomeregan just down the mountain. Stormwind was no exception with grand retellings of the fearless Lieutenant Ashdown and his equally as skilled partner Sgt. Vanimelde. Even the Death Knights of Archerus were said to let out a shrieking howl of approval upon hearing of the exploits of their two Human compatriots Darkblood and Dawson.

Truly, there wasn't a corner of the Alliance world untouched by the influence of the Tempest's story. Glory hounds flocked to the recruiting offices all seeking to be a part of this well decorated company. False tales of valour flooded the inns of every major city as new conscripts retold the stories of the heroes who were at Orgrimmar in their own image. As the true soldiers dispersed to their respective homes and the infamous 1st Company grew smaller and smaller following the relative time of peace after the Siege, the glory hounds were sent on extended leave to return to their families and their farms, acting only in times of need as a ragtag militia against whatever Kobold or Murloc threat that couldn't be ignored.

And here they were... This ragtag militia alongside the reformed heroes of the 1st Platoon being asked to charge the Dark Portal. There were no orders in her speech, merely a request for volunteers. What happened next came at the surprise of nobody. A vast majority of the 2nd and 3rd Platoons stepped back, clearing themselves from the main body with only a few dozen of them remaining forward. The 1st Platoon remained mostly forward, only those with serious commitments back home, too injured to step through, or those ordered to remain behind stepped away from the main body. Ordering into two ranks at the roaring yelled order of Lt. Dawnweaver, Salara counted down her ranks. 47... 47 plus herself and Dawnweaver... It will have to suffice.

"Squires confirm that the Alliance forces require our aid as Khadgar and his personal elite disrupt the energy powering this abomination. Men and Women of the 157th, stick by your peers in the coming fight and we will make it through this. When Khadgar has closed this portal, we will hold the line for as long as we can before retreating in a different direction so as to draw the Iron Horde away from the Archmage. Welcome to the Damned 4th Platoon Ladies and Gentlemen. On me."
(written by Raene. Image by Helmut.

The Dark Portal Awaits...

(Members of Wild Tempest had the opportunity to not to volunteer, if they do not want their characters to travel to Draenor.)
(Nobody's character was forced through against their will.)
(Expect Last Chancers.)
