The Road through Kalimdor [Northern Kalimdor, patch 5.3] Wowscr11

During the Night after the Stormwind Council session much movement was seen in the direction of the Old Barracks. When the sun rose in the morning, the Banner of the Alliance hang against the wall of one of the charred towers. Large canvas, apparently taken from tents are taut with ropes to fill some of the larger gaps of missing stone, smoke rise in midst of the ruins and a path have been cleared through the rubble.

The Road through Kalimdor [Northern Kalimdor, patch 5.3] Ashenv11
(Map Details: Red = Area of Battle, Black = Stormbringer II (Anchor spot -after- Battle))

Rargnasha wrote:
Battle of the Zoram Stand

A dense fog hangs over the waters of Zoram’gar… The Kor’kron forces have taken position on the beach, their demolishers facing towards the river. A few Proto-drakes can be seen circling around in the sky.

The General draws his horn and lets three long blasts sound, a few Dragonhawks swoop down towards the Kor’kron, but retreat lazily. Taunts and jeers are yelled from the Kor’kron lines.. However –  Two figures slip out of the fog.. The Horde ship, sailed by Sin Belore, and a massive Alliance Warship – The Stormbringer II.

The Stormbringer enters battle – Firing it’s frontal cannons upon the Kor’kron, it makes a sharp turn – And delivers a devastating broadside in union with the Horde battleship, devastating the Kor’kron forces upon the ship.

Before the thunder of the cannons have even faded – Alliance gyrocopters set into the air, deftly dodging around a few of the Proto-drakes before delivering fire onto the Kor’kron

*The further into the Forest the Rebels come, the more appearent it becomes that they are not the only ones attacking the Kor'kron. The sound of gatling guns can be heard now and then - But there is more...

Amongst the ruins, far ahead, A keeper of the Grove can be seen - And he is not alone! An army of treeants are fighting the Kor'kron as they try to re-group in the distance.. It seems that the kor'kron have been caugth between three armies and none of them seems to have mercy on their minds.*

-Battle-Description made by Rargnasha from the Horde point of view

The Battle was victorious with loss of only 2 Gyrocopters and several wounded, but alive, pilots.

After the Battle of Zoram Strand

The Road through Kalimdor [Northern Kalimdor, patch 5.3] Wowscr12

Since the great battle, the 157th Company have made their forward post in Orendil's Retreat, a quiet hut in middle of the woods and only a short walk away from the shore. The building have not been fortified in any way, and only sign of the Alliance Military Presence in area are the soldiers moving around in daily tasks and several parked Gyrocopters and Gryphons nearby.

The Storbringer II, the Company Battleship is anchored off the coast of Zoram Strand, its bow (front) turned Northwards and thus cannons away from the Northern Horde Rebell's fortress of Zoram'gar Outpost. Supplies are brought by smaller boats coming from the sea to the Battleship, wherefrom they are transported by Gyrocopters and rowboats to land and from there, forward to Orendil's Retreat.

South from the retreat, Kor'kron presence in is still strong, and Demons have been spotted roaming in the woods. It is certainly not as peaceful at it might look at first glance.

Pact with the Alliance.

Mok'ra warriors of the Northern Rebellion! Vol'jin of the Darkspear tribe have made a pact with the human king against Garrosh and his Kor'kron.

We in the Northern Rebellion figth to support Vol'jins war, and will adhere to this pact as well -  However, that does not mean that we will turn our back to the Alliance and offer them to put a knife in it.

Should you find armed Alliance forces near our camps, kill them or capture them alive, as we will not allow the Alliance to spy on us.

Any Alliance that approaches our camps unarmed shall not be harmed, but will be taken as a messenger. That does not mean that they will be allowed to go sight-seeing inside our camps. Anyone caugth attempting to spy will be taken in as a prisoner instead of a messenger.

Alliance forces close to their own settlements or away from our own are not to be engaged in combat or provoked. If they attack, our warriors are allowed to answer and return fire.

While the Alliance have agreed to assisting the Northern Rebellion with resources, we do not intend to let our guard down towards them - If you leave one of our camps, remember that Ashenvale is a Warzone, and going out alone risks your life as well as information about the Rebellion.

-General Rargnasha Bloodmark
Chieftain of the Red Blades.

The message appears a copy, as the same is found from all Alliance army-camps which have a relevant part in the current war in Ashenvale. The copies are signed simply with Wulong's personal seal: a mask traditionall used in Pandaren theatre.

The Road through Kalimdor [Northern Kalimdor, patch 5.3] Inv_mask_01

The signature of Lieutenant of Inran of Kor'khat, Commander of the Company is added to the bottom of the message, following a short note:
"Hellscream's Kor'kron are recognized for being almost exclusively Orcs and wearing Black and Golden uniforms. Rebells are more rag-tag and composed of multiple races, including Orcs, Blood Elves, Trolls, Goblin, Tauren, Undead and Pandaren. Contact with the Rebells is to be avoided unless ordered otherwise.

Ruins of Ordil'Aran
Ashenvale
Kalimdor

  • Scouting Reports had shown presence of hostile Furbolg occupying ruins near Orendil's Retreat that could pose a threat by ambushing the nearby roads, or launching a night attack. Inside the ruins were three ancient Highborne artifacts. One Green, one Red, one White.
  • After some preparation including the acquiring of an Arcane Nullifier, carried by Celeste Vanimedle, we assaulted the ruins, resulting in the destruction of two Orbs. (Green and Red), both of which seemed to drive the Furbolg into a frenzy.
  • Upon the destruction of the Red Orb, we were assaulted by Kor'kron forces who looked to claim the third for themselves. The Furbolg retreated leaving one solitary shaman to defend himself. We assisted him and defeated the Kor'kron, though the Warlock that was with them destroyed the final Orb.
  • The friendly Furbolg, named Hronsch, an Elder of his tribe, explained that his tribe had been driven from their homes and into the ruins, where they found these Orbs which were long-ago tainted by demonic powers. Though he had cleansed one and hoped to use it against the others, its' destruction meant its' power was significantly limited, though a fragment was recovered. Hronsch said he would look for others who are tainted and attempt to cleanse them.
  • We had no casualties, though some wounded. Private Odgan Strongbrew lost an eye in combat.

As a result of this encounter, the road to Astranaar should be considered safe so long as we can avoid the Siege of Maestra's Post. Orendil's Retreat is no longer vulnerable to Furbolg assault, and the Gnarlpine Furbolg have pledged to assist us against the Horde.

The 157th Company raided the 18th day of June Hellscreams Watch by air. Scout reports had shown a clear weakness in aerial defenses, so the company launched an attack with Gyrocopters. The company sweep over the camp once, destroying defenses and troops with aerial bombardment. Next, a team of fighters were drop down, to salvage and pack supplies from the camp. The group split soon into two, one who fought a furious battle against a Kor'kron Captain and the Dark Shaman and Elite Grunt assisting him.

Result: The Company escaped with no casualties, along with stolen rations. Demolisher ammunition, weapons and other kind of supplies were blown up to the sky. The demolishion team risked to be left behind, but were eventually retrieved before they made enemy contact.

  • As commanded we barricaded the eastern bridge of Astranaar. The barricade is made out of wood from a dead tree, we made the barricade as tall as a Human and sturdy as a mountain. With various holes in its wooden surface for archers and spearmen, to use in case of attack, also did we place a amount of stakes and by Lance-Corporal Tachal Stormclaw summoned thorns to help with keeping unwanted guests on distance.

  • To keep the road leading into Astranaar free when not attacked, we made a 'moveable' piece of barricade, a gate so to say. Which can easily be placed on and off the road.

  • As extra, Private Paia Cuddlefork and Private Nimble turned a big tree stump (from the above mentioned dead tree) into a lighting turret, or 'totem' as Nimble calls it. Which looks like a normal stump, but can zap deadly lighting in anything in front of it. NOTE: It got a long recharge time.

  • Also did we encounter a scouting party of the Horde rebels, I send after Tuomas and Nimble once the rebels moved away, with the orders to keep distance and not to attack, and inform us if they made plans to move on our position again. Which they did not. They were scouting out the region around "Silverwing Refuge".

Result is a sturdy, but mobile. And above all very deadly barricade, which can even fend of Deathwing would he dare arise again!

Minutes before Midnight, 22th of June.

*A deadly frigthened sentinel would at some point appear in Astranaar, talking to everyone who'd listen, the proud warrior even almost crying with terror.*
"The.. The Rebellion.. They cannot be trusted.. They cannot be trusted.. They fought my sisters.. Beat them down mercilessly.. Cut off the head of our commander... -Carried it like a trophy-.. And.. And they dragged them away.. The rest of them.. Alive.."

-The Rumor is soon tackled by Lieutenant Inran, who claims that the Legion have had their hands at play, having Night Elves mind-controlled and trying to drive the Horde Rebellion and Alliance to eachother throats. Infernal remains at Stardust Spire confirms this, along with Rebellion Leader's story.

Some unrest may still though linger in the minds of the Soldiers... Can, or can't, the Rebellion be trusted?

THURSDAY June 27th. Hour before Midnight.

Alliance Activity:

Minutes before midnight, a sole Gryphon bearing Alliance colors was seen fly from the forest of Ashenvale into the open of Zoram Strand, heading to the Alliance Battleship "Stormbringer II" anchored some distance off the shore.

Not long after, the Battleship was seen lift the anchor, open sails and make it way to open sea, leaving Zoram Strand behind.

[Archived Letter & Map]

"Here are some movement maps based on our planning tonight. If changes need to be made, please inform. Otherwise, we shall be working towards these goals. Please report as progress is made.

Commander Nightborne, Natures Grasp will likely reach their goal before Wild Tempest. I suggest working against Kor'kron operations in northern Barrens after taking Mor'sham Ramparts. Alternatively, they can move down to Honor's Stand to assist us in southern Barrens, or try to hunt down the Marauder renegades that attacked Feathermoon. The choice is yours.

Scout Report 29.6 [30] By: Corporal Celeste Vanimedle

Moved South East out of Windshear Hold, along the roadside.

Littered throughout the wilderness are several wild Rams. Spoke to Private Strongbrew, he agreed that they could be tamed and used as mounts if they were herded back to the hold.

Carried along the South Eastern path till we reached a fork in the road, we took the northern pass where we encountered a large encroachment of -GIANT- spiders.

It was my assumption that these spiders are also another source of the Horde's venom stores along with the wyvern of the area.

We carried on to the North and using Strongbrews experience of Mountaineering we managed to get a birds eye view of Sun Rock Retreat. Seems to be occupied by Kor'kron.

The Retreat seems almost impenetrable to attack, surrounded by large cliffs on every side with only very narrow valleys to make an approach in.

The problem however lies in if we attack the Sludgewerks and rig, we leave ourselves open to a flank from the retreat

Next we continued up the road to where we found a small ridge, the ridge itself overlooks the Hold we rest in. I highly recommend a sentry be placed there at -all- times otherwise we may compromise our movements to the Horde watchers.

We reached the Sludgewerks with very little interruption though the hour was late. We made our way to one of the outlaying Oil pumps.

Tuomas went to scout futher ahead as best he could without being seen and came to the conclusion that the werks themselves are defended by Kor'kron, Goblins, and lesser ogres - Oafs.

We then made our way to an outlying pump station, there Odgan managed to subdue the goblin worker and get a readout on how much oil they are pumping out.

Odgan's Report:

We used subtlety and guile to make sure that it looked as though the Goblin had been drinking on the job, no-one would know we were there.

We then proceeded to find a better look of the rig, we ventured eastward up a high ridge to look down. The Oil Rig itself is mainly populated by Goblins, a couple of Orc guards and one large oaf. A scout team will be able to infiltrate and excecute no problem.

The main area of the Sludgewerks however has many guards, and several of the large Oafs. Highly recommend that we use the ridge as a staging point for ranged troopers to volley arrows down on to them.

No fire, explosives, or heavy ordnance. Or magics. It could cause a volatile chain and have a crater the size of Theramore on our hands.

However said above mentioned ridge is infested with Wyvern - the main stock of the Horde's venom production here in Stonetalon I'd wager. We'd need to clear a path through them to reach the ridge. Two birds one stone perhaps?

That is all I can think to file in the report.

Stonetalon Mountains: Sludgewerks

The Road through Kalimdor [Northern Kalimdor, patch 5.3] Sludge11

02.07.30

Corporal Celeste Vanimedle:

The mission:

Men and Women of the 157th Company wer're brought to attention within Windshear Hold, I informed then of what the mission would entail. We would be moving northward towards Windshear Heights. The site of the Wyvern nest located in earlier Scout reports, it would provide a lofty vantage point for our soldiers to parachute down and secure the rig, and outpost of Sludgewerks without breaking through any defences. I decided the best course of action would be to split the men in to two teams, given that Odgan was with me when I scouted the location earlier he would lead the team to take the rig and secure it whilst I thought Cynthia and Xildon should lead the frontliners. We split in to two groups:

Frontliners:

Lavian Dawson.
Emily
Paia Cuddlefork
Cynthia *Leader
Maalu
Xildon Tinkertronn *Leader
Lelara "Frosthoof"
Celeste Melody Vanimedle

Strike Team:
Tuomas
Stormy
Bronn Stormshale
Huruma
Falarth Thorgint
Odgan Strongbrew *Leader
We moved as a single unit to the aforementioned "Windshear Heights" and secured it by slaying two Wyvern that attacked us, Xildon made short work of the Kor'kron handler, we now had clear view of our landing zone. I would remain atop the ledge and use arrow fire to slow any incomming assaults, also had a flare gun to spot any incomming Kor'kron re-inforcements from the south.

The men jumped and landed, but as they did a Goblin atop the rig launched a counter attack on the landing zone, firing zone several explosives from an artillery battery. The men for the most part managed to get clear, from this moment on I lost sight of Odgan's group and decided to keep watch on the Frontliners. They were met with resistance first from numerous lesser ogres, the goblin's muscle: The Oafs.

They put up quite a fight but our trained soldiers out manuvered them and slew them quickly, the Kor'kron Orcs then used there own oil stocks to slick the ground to stop the frontliners proceeding, whilst this distraction was incurring the Goblin's began loading rockets on to an Artillery battery to launch at the rig and blow the entire thing to pieces. However our frontliners out manuvered them.

Lavian using her magics was able to "walk" atop the oil much like she would water, however due to the oils substanced it granted the charging frontliners increased momentum in there initial swings against the Kor'kron Orcs. Meanwhile Emily and Cynthia targetted the Goblin's loading the rockets in to the battery, death gripping them and cleaving them in two the moment they landed close. The newer recruit Maalu used her arcanic abbilites to completely freeze the battery in place to prevent any futher use.

Whilst the Orcs were being disposed of a Goblin took Emily and Cynthia by suprise shooting at the pair of them, with moderate success as you can have when shooting a Death Knight. After the battle was finished a moment of respite was not given as a goblin atop a shredder came charging towards the front liners. Though it was a gruesome battle, the frontliners managed to stop the mechanical terror in its tracks, I used the flare gun to signal to Odgan that the outpost was secure.

After moving down myself to meet the Frontliners, it wasn't long before Odgan and his men followed suite. Though we were injured we suffered no casualties, the rig and the surrounding area is ours. Guards were positioned so that the Alliance could have access to any and all aquisitions that are to be had.

Stonetalon Mountains: Kor'kron Ambush.

The Road through Kalimdor [Northern Kalimdor, patch 5.3] Stonet10

Date: 05/07/30

Corporal: Celeste Vanimedle

The Briefing:

An injured Sentinel was calling out for aid through yells, Wild Tempest found and located the Kaldorei female near the base of a tower in Windshear Hold. The Sentinel herself was mortally wounded, bleeding profusely from a wound to her abdomen. She spoke only in Darnassian, to which Tachal was the only listener able to understand. Doctor Cuddlefork and Bronn Stormshael attempted to heal the Sentinel's wounds but the resulting magics only sped her inevitable death due to a curse from sources of Fel Magic. What was ascertained however from the Sentinel was her, and her party were attacked by the Kor'kron and had something of high importance stolen from them.

The Mission:
Main Objectives:

  • Find any survivors of Kaldorei Party.  Achieved

  • Neutralize any Kor'kron Assassins. Achieved

  • Find source of Fel infusion/curse. Achieved

  • Retrieve all stolen information. Achieved

Those present at Windshear Hold we're quickly assembled to move towards the site the fallen Sentinel had told us her party had fallen at. We traversed the road leading out of the Hold due South West, it wasn't long till we reached what can only be described as the "masacre". Sentinel bodies along with Orcish Kor'kron littered the roadside, whatever the Sentinel's had stolen from them they did not give up without a fight. Amongst the dead was a lone surviving Sentinel that Tachal and Nutone spoke to in brief. Through her croaky strained voice they managed to cement the fact that the Kor'kron had indeed stolen something of vital importance and it could not be allowed to reach there HQ.

Stormy's nose managed to sniff out through her keen senses, tracks and blood leading away from the masacre site, belonging to Kor'kron Orcs. The tracks themselves continued along the road for some time, untill the tracks split in to two pairs. The following teams were assembled to track the two set's of tracks efficiently.

*Tachal would use his Storm Crow form to fly between both teams in an event of an ambush to call help to the needed team

Strike Team A:

Celeste Melody Vanimedle
Glalana
Storm (Tracker)
Dr. Paia Cuddlefork
Emily

Strike Team B:

Odgan Strongbrew (Tracker)
Bronn Stormshael
Tachal *
Huruma
Albert Crownwell

Odgan would continue up the mountainside following that set of tracks, Stormy would lead my team down the road. As the men broke off we continued down the road a way, Storm, Glalana, and Emily would act as frontliners with Paia and I supporting from the rear. We continued to follow Storm's instructions untill we reached a dip in the road and the tracks forked off. We would follow them down a steep slope, as we reached the bottom of the valley rustling was heard from above in the tree canopy, as we looked up a demon - an Imp, launched a volley of firebolts down on the group. However due to Dr. Cuddlefork's quick thinking and sheer force of will, she was able to erect a barrier around each of us, negating any harm the bolts may cause.

We chased the imp down after it saw its attack clearly failed where Martha would deathgrip the Imp in to a stranglehold, attempting to use brute force to "persuade" the imp to tell us where its Master was hiding, after a small conversation the Imp launched a bolt at Emily's left eye, given the distance she had no opportunity to dodge and was struck. In the confusion, a Kor'kron Soldier charged at the flank of the group, cleaving myself, Paia, and Glalana.

The Dr was out cold due to the cleave and I was knocked clear off my feet, we'd walked directly in to an ambush the tracks left there for such a purpose. Glalana and Emily dealt with the orc whilst Stormy pounced on the imp, ripping its head clean off and digesting part of it. Unknowingly however she'd allowed herself to fall prey to the creatures natural fel taint, and was quickly comming under its influence. Emily was ordered to knock her out cold, whilst Glalana dealt with the seriousness of Paia's injuries.

When both were "stable" I ordered a retreat from the area, with two men down we couldn't risk pushing futher forward, I checked the slain Kor'kron but he had no information on him, this track set was clearly a rouse from the start. We managed to make it back to the Hold without incident untill Odgan's arrival, it seemed they had more luck, I have had him write up a report and included it in this documentation:

Stonetalon Mountains: Kor'kron Caverns.

The Road through Kalimdor [Northern Kalimdor, patch 5.3] Kor_kr10

Date: 07/07/30

Corporal: Celeste Vanimedle

The Briefing:

Lavian Dawson in a scouting expedition, came across several Kor'kron soldiers seemingly acting suspicious, on closer investigation she dispatched said Orcs and found the entranceway to a Kor'kron cavern, believed to lay within a supply line from Stonetalon Mountains to Orgrimmar. 157th Company would infiltrate said cavern and neutralize and raid the supply line through use of explosives. Private Lavian Dawson would lead the assault.

The Mission:

Main Objectives:

  • Neutralize Kor'kron supply lines in Stonetalon.    Achieved

  • Sieze and Capture any Kor'kron Supplies for Alliance use.   Achieved

  • Discover Kor'kron secrets or tactical advantages.   Achieved

Pvt. Lavian Dawson took command of the assembled members of the 157th Company, as well as a small number of Pandaren aiding with the War effort against the Kor'kron and Hellscream. We were to move from Windshear Hold and follow her to the location of the Cavern as quickly and silently as possible to not attract any unwanted attention of give away our position.

The assembled group gathered outside the entrance of the cave:

Strike Team:

Lavian Dawson
Celeste Melody Vanimedle
Tumoas (Demolitions)
Storm
Tachal
Albert Crownwell
Jiang-nu Sweetbloom *Blooming Lotus
Tai Zu'jin *Blooming Lotus
Shandian *Blooming Lotus
Lianji Honeybrew *Blooming Lotus

The strike team proceeded carefully, the cave was dimly lit, a few shafts of sunlight escaping through the cracks and crags in the roof illuminating little. Lavian instructed Storm to place flares in a strategic manner to illuminate our path. As we traversed in to the first area of the cavern the stench of death soon hit the senses, and it wasn't long before we found the source. Bodies littered not far from the entrance way, things of all races, and even animals that looked as though they had been ripped apart.

As we stood examining the bodies, several members began to hear clicking, scuttling coming towards our position. Before long the very ground we walked on began to shift and move as three small Scorpid erupted from the ground producuing sink holes as they did so, the team was able to dispatch them quickly enough however it was not the first suprise we were to expect. We continued a short way before a blast of mystical wind hit the group, the ground began to shake and the roof of the cavern began to fall.

Due to a cave in, Lavian was seperated from the group. I was left with the task of continuing without her. We could see a faint red light within the recesses of the caverns but so far no Orcs, strange noises could be heard, clattering as though metalwork was being constructed. I sent Tachal and Tuomas to scout the shadows and see what they could find, as well as have Tuomas place the explosives we had brought in key locations to ensure the caverns destruction when our task was completed.

The main group began to push forwards and as we did we could see around this part of the cavern, it was dimly lit through torches. On closer inspection there were a great number of crates that housed all manner of different things, not all of Orcish make, clearly this was a place the Kor'kron had been using to steal plundered supplies from the Alliance and other Neutral factions. There was also a notable statue, something alluring about it yet it had a faint sense of magic about it. The senses of the group were ensnared by an exotic fragrance, and as we continued deeper in to the cavern we spotted what appeared to be the form of a female Orc.

The Orc turned on her heels and spotted us, as Tachal and Tuomas rejoined the group, she beckoned us over where I began to try and converse with the female. However it quickly became aparent that the woman was quite insane, though had a "certain" grasp on reality. She held no weapons I could see, all that she posessed was a rather simple looking flute, she raised the flute to her lips and began to play a song on it. I attempted to interrupt her with a shot to her shoulder but it was to no avail, as did Crownwell attempt to burn the flute it was enchanted to be resistant to magics.

We became all too familier with what the flute's song was achieving when the ground began to rumble, human sized scorpid began to burrow from out of the ground at each strike team members feet. They were quickly dispatched however by each member and we set our sights oncemore on the Orcish woman, I shot another volley at her back whilst Tachal threw a dagger at her, she could not evade both however and the arrow struck her. We managed to ascertain that the Scorpid were being controlled by the Orcs through use of the flutes, the call of them taming the beasts. Before we could question her futher, large mechanical noises, clangs and bangs of metal grew louder and louder within the cavern chamber, as we turned to face the direction of the echo there stood two large what can only be described as Goblin War Machines. I quickly took the flute from the Orc and turned to face the behemoths with the team.

Each war machine was dealt with in no small part to Tachal and the Shaman Lianji, the former summoning large vines from the earth to constrict around one of the golems whilst the shaman summoned an elemental of Earth to combat and battle the large metal creations, but not before Storm was knocked unconcious by a heavy blow from one of the machines. However it seemed that these Golem's were still in there planning phases as after each barrage our strike teams launched, the golems strained to counter before they froze completely, the Goblin's cursing heavilly.

After the fight with the golem's was finished I began to interrogate the Orcish woman while Tuomas and Jiang-nu interrogated the goblin machine pilot's in turn. Whilst this was going on I had Tachal scout for any other ways out of here we could use, and the Pandaren begin to gather up any supplies we could take whilst we blew the cavern to pieces, believing that the worst of the fighting was behind us, a mistake I sorely regret. It wasn't long before a rumbling struck the cavern unlike anything we had felt previously, I signaled and yelled for a retreat however as we ran it was too late, from the centre of the cavern an enormous beast of a Scorpid, the mother of the brood errupted in to the "arena" to do battle with the Team.

The Scorpid itself was around the size of several Elekks in width and height, however it wasn't "bare" like the other scorpid we had faced, it had been adapted to combat. Armor was quite literally nailed in to its all ready thick swollen carapace giving the creature an incredible defence. As it burst through the dirt and created the sinkhole, Tachal fell directly down in to it. the creature laying atop the hole preventing him from escaping till it was either slain, or moved. I ordered the Tempest team to engage the Scorpid and attempt to surround it to assault it from all angles.

However the beast faught back and injured myself gravely in the process, I am told due to my quite dazed state that Crownwell was able to locate the weakness of the beast at its rear where its armored plating was exposed, it was there that the team began to focus its assault. With Jiang-nu tending to my wounds we were both out of this fight, however it seems that this battle was not the only one occuring. After Lavian had been seperated from the main group, she'd found her way in to the Scorpid tunnels themselves and was fighting alongside Tachal in the sinkhole against over a hundred smaller scorpid whilst the Tempest team battled the Queen.

After a hard faught and gruesome battle the "mother" Scorpid was pushed back enough for Tachal and Lavian to escape the sinkhole, the team then combined its power and arms in driving the body of the queen over the sinkhole creating a blockade so the smaller Scorpid could not overwhelm them before the Tempest had time to escape. The team quickly began to hurry towards the entranceway, the skittering of the hundreds of scorpid quickly following behind them.

The entranceway was still blocked however, the Pandaren Shamen Lianji Honeybrew called oncemore on the elements of Earth to quickly clear the path. Once clear the order was given to Tuomas to ignite the charges and we all ran with supplies in hand to the mouth of the cavern where we made it out alive the blast barely behind us.
I have compiled what I believe to be a full list of supplies that we're taken from the Cavern's, we suffered no casualities only myself and Stormy being quite badly injured.

Stonetalon Mountains: Siege of Thal'darah

The Road through Kalimdor [Northern Kalimdor, patch 5.3] Siege_10

Date: 09/07/30

Corporal: Celeste Vanimedle

The Briefing:

Nightelf Outrunner's arrived at Windshear Hold with information that the Kor'kron Fel user who had assaulted Kaldorei transport parties had amassed a small force at the foothold of Thal'darah outlook. The Elves were under heavy fire and spread very thin. It was up to the 157th Company to go there with immediate effect, stop the pushing force and neutralize the Fel user once and for all.

The Mission:

Main Objectives:

  • Push main Kor'kron assault front:    Achieved

  • Neutralize Kor'kron Fel User:      Achieved

Myself and Master Sergeant Ashdown briefed the men on what the situation would be like at the Overlook. We told them to expect heavy resistance not only were we going in melee and ranged combat we also had several Kor'kron Demolisher's to deal with. We moved quickly by Hippogryph to the Overlook itself, as we flew over the entirity of the battle dawned on us as we saw the Kaldorei in a viscious stalemate with the Kor'kron invaders.

We moved as a singular unit down to the ramparts before  a fork in the road became aparent, for efficiency it was decided that two teams would be made, one led by Master Sergeant Ashdown. The other by myself, we would strike the Kor'kron from different angles and press towards there flank taking down any of the invaders as we could.

The two strike teams were:

Strike Team A:

Celeste Melody Vanimedle
Bronn Stormshael
Tachal
Tuomas
Clara "Lavian" Dawson
Shialin

Strike Team B:

Eodain Ashdown
Odgan Strongbrew
Huruma
Albert Crownwell
Salara

Ashdown took his group and sped off down his rampart whilst I briefed the men on what I wished them to do, knowing there skillsets made this a whole lot easier. Bronn would use his elemental magic of Earth to create sinkholes for any charging Kor'kron, effectively taking them out of the fight, also using it to disrupt the ground that any demolisher's walked on. Tachal would use Druidic magic to entwine the demolishers in vines and roots to stop them proceeding any futher as well as use gusts of wind to knock down charging soldiers. Tuomas would make his way around to flank and assassinate any ranged attackers. Lavian would act as our "tank" and human cannonball, charging in to the ranks to take on and grab the attention of as many Kor'kron as she could. Shialin and I would provide ranged cover, Shialin herself taking command of a nearby Glaive thrower, her Night Elven training coming in to play.

We sped off down the hill and everyone took there assigned positons and tasks on the field of battle, the strike team cutting efficiently with magic, bow and steel in to the enemy lines. However the Fel User began to reach out mystically causing each member of the team to see images, amplifying emotions. Tachal rage, Tuomas fear, Bronn desire, Myself despair. The images however did not seem to have any effect on the Death Knights. Due to a magical backfire Tachal managed to force the Fel User to stop his incantation and we were freed from the haze. Demolisher fire was surrounding us and we had to move quickly using fallen trees as cover.

As we traversed from stump to stump, Bronn and Tachal both got caught in the crossfire of a speeding boulder. Lavian however using her speed and strength lifted them both as another boulder sped towards them, saving both of them from being crushed. The demolisher's were becoming a problem and we had to take them out fast, Lavian, Tachal, and Bronn would focus there magics together to slow down the behemoths whilst Tuomas assassinated the driver. Shialin and I would provide cover fire for them as they worked.

We used the edges of the valley to traverse downwards them providing an effective shield from any Kor'kron flanks, and it wasn't long before we spotted our targets. The team moved quickly in to position and as planned were able to take down the first all ready battered demolisher without a hitch, however problems became aparent as in the backlines of the Kor'kron force an incredibly armored and well defended Demolisher came in to view. Lavian would act oncemore as a... "living" tank. Drawing the armored vehicle's fire while the rest of the team engaged it. Using well placed shots I imbued my arrows with Ice whilst cleaves from the others managed to break the now frozen metal and reveal weakness' in the armour of the demolisher before it was destroyed by a mighty cleave from Shialin. The driver however ejected! Lavian quickly used a deathgrip and brought an end to his life with one motion of her blade.

The team had broken through the lines succesfully and we were presented with a cave in view, the cave itself was unguarded perhaps arrogance led the Fel User to believe he would not need men stationed so far back. We proceeded carefully but the men and myself were hit by another wave of Fel Magics, this time it seamt to sap the very strength from our muscles. The Death Knights however seemingly immune to its effects oncemore. This is where my accounts become a little hazy, I myself became from what I have gathered from Dawson, possessed momentarilly by the magics of the Fel.

From what I have gathered, Tachal proceeded first in to the cave once he was inside a great wall of fel flame errupted behind him trapping him inside. Shialin attempted to pass through using an anti-magic ward but the magics of the fel flame completely sapped her strength. Due to my "possession" I lept and attacked Bronn, kicking him square in the back before drawing my blades on Lavian, aparently I was subjected to the effects of a Heterochromia at the time, my left eye becomming fel green in coloration. Lavian quickly subdued me and brought me to the ground.

Tuomas used shadow magics to hide me and the others from sight, mystically of course. The magics worked the way intended and broke the connection the fel user had on me. As I was coming too, Lavian had Bronn use jets of water to calm the inferno infront of them whilst she used her anti-magic shell to dive through after Tachal, it became aparent that the Warlock was creating an image for us to see, of Tachal being butchered inside the cave those outside unable to stop him suffering the fate.

I quickly yelled for Huruma to join my team and use his magics in conjunction with Bronn's to stem the tide of the flames. They were succesfull but it seems also that Lavian had managed to subdue the Warlock within the cave, Tachal had been stabbed in the back by a dagger and was barely clinging to life, and the warlock was gathering magics to literally blow himself to pieces, hoping to take all of us along with him. I ordered a retreat quickly and evacuated the cave.

The other members of the group sped off to help the other strike team. Whilst I remained behind with Bronn to stabalize Tachal. The remainder of what happend to Lance-Corporal Strongbrew, and Master Sergeant Ashdown's team can be found in the latter's report.

Stonetalon Mountains: Siege of Thal'darah

The Road through Kalimdor [Northern Kalimdor, patch 5.3] Battle10

Date: 09/07/30

Master Sergeant: Eodain Ashdown

After receiving intelligence that a sizeable Kor'kron force was amassing to attack Thal'darah Overlook, the decision was made to help reinforce the base and assist our Kaldorei Allies. Co-incidentally, a Kor'kron Warlock which had previously been encountered was sighted in the area. Two teams lead an assault into the battlefield, one lead by Corporal Celeste Vanimedle, the other by myself.

Strike Team A:

Celeste Melody Vanimedle
Bronn Stormshael
Tachal
Tuomas
Clara "Lavian" Dawson
Shialin

Strike Team B:

Eodain Ashdown
Odgan Strongbrew (K.I.A)
Huruma
Albert Crownwell
Salara

After separating into two teams, I lead my squad down a fork in the road and straight into the Kor'kron lines to grab their attention. We engaged and opened a gap in their defences which we exploited with ruthless efficiency. After engaging multiple hostiles once more, we managed to acquire a demolisher that Huruma had managed to wrestle from the Kor'kron - quite literally - that I ordered Odgan to command, along with Albert Crownwell. We met up with Strike Team A at the mouth of the cave and prepared to assault.

However, the Kor'kron began to form up behind us and sent assassins to stop us from killing their leader. I took my squad and held the line against them, decimating their first wave with ease thanks to Odgan's demolisher. The second wave too, fell though they managed to wear out and tire my team, and wounded Private Salara, who I helped onto the demolisher to change places with Private Crownwell. On the third wave, they brought a demolisher. It fired upon us and whilst it did not do significant damage, it was enough of a threat for me to order Odgan to engage it with his own demolisher. At the time, I had not known he was heavily wounded, and he could not fire any more projectiles, instead guiding his demolisher into the Kor'kron siege machine and stopping it from moving. He was killed in action in the process of doing so, but Private Salara survived and managed to escape the wreckage. As the situation at the cave became more dire, Huruma was needed to assist Strike Team A. Crownwell, Salara and I held the line as best as we could, but we were losing ground due to the fact that none of us are trained to fight heavy troops on the front line, along with being outnumbered and the wounds of Salara and Crownwell.

As luck would have it, we could defend long enough to give Strike Team A the time needed to kill the Warlock. Afterwards, they immediately came to our assistance and we defeated the Kor'kron forces, but we were too late to save Lance-Corporal Strongbrew. Despite the best efforts of Company Members present, we were unable to save him, but his body was carried from the field. Funeral arrangements will be arranged in the near future.

Officer note:

- A commendation is hereby recommended for all Soldiers from both strike teams who were present in both battles. Their bravery, courage and resolve in this conflict should not go un-noticed.
- Odgan Strongbrew is recommended to posthumously be awarded the Distinguished Service Medal.

Master Sergeant: Eodain Ashdown

The Briefing:

Reports of workers going missing within the mines of the Deep Reaches, situated between the remains of Krom'gar Fortress and Northwatch Hold, had concerned the local Garrison Commander to a degree he felt it necessary to send a fireteam to investigate the mines; The 157th Company were selected, and Pandaren of the Blooming Lotus volunteered to assist.

157th Company:

Msg. Eodain Ashdown (Fireteam Leader)
Cpl. Xildon Tinkertron (Second-in-command)
Cpl. Cynthia
Pvt. Huruma
Pvt. Maalu
Pvt. Konstantinos
Rc. Tuomas

Blooming Lotus:*
Ju'sin Stormstout (Leader)
Shandian

The Mission:

Main Objectives:

  • Find out what happened to the miners.   Achieved

  • Defeat Kor'kron forces.  Achieved

Upon entering the mine, we encountered the local foreman who advised us against venturing further; clearly whatever was in there had frightened him greatly, but time was of the essence and we had to move further in without any recon. Almost immediately we were ambushed and confronted by a Sin'dorei Blood Mage, who seemed to be very powerful; she had raised a shield impervious to most attacks, and Kor'kron assassins attacked at her command. This leads me to believe she was a mercenary in the employment of the Kor'kron. After dispatching them, we moved further in; she had made a firewall to cover the tracks we were stood on, and I gave the order to switch to prevent us being burned to death. Another trap awaited us as we approached a bridge on the tracks, and Private Huruma, Recruit Tuomas, the Pandaren known as Ju'sin and myself were trapped at the bottom of the mine to face the Blood Mage. We managed to hold our ground and force a retreat from her; at this point I commanded Cpl. Tinkertron to lead the team forward until we could re-unite.

After a short time, we managed to, though our group had spotted them engaging what I can only describe as a monstrosity; a creature made of blood commanded by the Mage, somewhat like an Water Elemental. I can only assume the group pressed forward without incident as we had done so up until this point. After a long fight, we managed to defeat the creature and Corporal Cynthia managed to slay the Mage. In a moment of quick thinking she had raised her anti-magic shell and engaged the Mage to keep her attention from us. Admittedly I was too wounded to watch much of the fight, and cannot give an accurate report as to what happened; only that we were successful and managed to vacate the mine without losses.

Any Kor'kron that remain inside will surely starve to death, or be killed by the Garrison; from what I had seen, the mine had caved in and there was only one way out. What worries me is how they got in there in the first place.

Stonetalon Mountains: Boulderslide Caverns:

The Road through Kalimdor [Northern Kalimdor, patch 5.3] Kobold10

14.07.30

Corporal: Celeste Vanimedle

The Briefing:

Admiral Conover sent words that a small cavern to the south-west of the Northwatch Basecamp in the Stonetalon Mountains housed crystal formations that could be used and implimented by the Alliance War effort. The Cavern itself had been infested by several Kobold that needed to be erradicated for the cavern to be secured and excavations on the crystals could proceed. A small team would move to the cavern and deal with the infestation:

*Decided that it would be morally wrong and left the team, disobeying a direct order and the chain of command.

Strike Team:

Celeste Melody Vanimedle
Albert Crownwell
Huruma*
Ghanimah
Zibble Fiddlecog
Tuomas

The Mission:

Main Objectives:

  • Secure supply route to Boulderslide Cavern   Achieved

  • Cleanse Kobold infestation  Achieved

After briefing the men, Huruma decided that it would be morally wrong to "brutally murder" Kobolds if they had "legitimate claims" on the cavern and subsquently left the group to join the main force pushing towards the Barrens. This left us without a frontliner, so we had to rely on Ghanimah's grasp of the Nether to summon forth a creature of the void that would act accordingly and absorb any damage we'd need it too.

The cavern lay south west of the base encampment and we did not run in to much trouble on the roads themselves. As we reached the entrance to the cavern we found several small dirty pick axes as well as a lot of excriment from the Kobold themselves. Was quite repulsive... We pressed on in to cave met with darkness. Crownwell would use his mastery of flame magics to illuminate the path at all time.

The caverns depths were an intersection of criss-crossing dank tunnels, the only illumination from from Crownwell's flames and the faint efflorscent lights dancing about the crystal formations.

-Note. These Crystal formations, or at least some of them seem to possess mystical effects, draining the endurance, stamina and strength of any that come in to physical contact with them. Heavilly advise that research goes in to them, and they are studied intensely before being implimented in to the war effort.

As to be expected we encountered Kobolds around every turn, them small in skill and endurance however there numbers greatly overmassed ours. That being said we moved as a unit up towards the top of the cavern where a large boulder become present, it seamt however that we had stumbled in to a trap! Dozen's of tiny footsteps could be heard advancing on our position, in a snap decision Ghanimah would use her magics to shift the large boulder to block the advancement of the incomming Kobold.

However this seamt to be a wrong move as when the boulder moved it was acting as a "plug" for the lower reaches of the cavern, as it shifted, dozens more kobold sprung forth from the hole that was now present. One large one in particular swinging a comically over sized mallet.

Though the battle was hard, we managed to take the Cavern for the Admiral, without loss of life, I being the only one that suffered any serious injuries. I decided that taking one of the Kobold's in to custody was for the best so we could learn why the Kobold weren't effected by the crystal formations as we were, however said questioning got us no where and the Kobold was disposed of.

Onwards to the Barrens

Date: 14/07/30
Corporal: Cynthia
The Briefing:

The Wild Tempest were to push forwards to the Barrens to assist in the war effort there. There was still a enemy-held mine to be cleaned, however, so we split into two groups, one led by Corporal Celeste and the other by Master Sergeant Eodain. This report concerns the latter group, no doubt the other one will have a report of its own.

The Mission:

Main Objectives:

-Reach Honor's Stand: Achieved

Soldiers present in Eodain's group:
Eodain Ashdown
Cynthia
Lavian Dawson
Kolsva Dawson
Emily
Paia Cuddlefork
Konstantinos
Huruma
Mineral Coppersocket
Tachal Stormclaw
Mia Averheim

We gathered at the Northwatch camp in the Stonetalon Mountains, where we were promptly divided into two groups, myself assigned into the master sergeant's. The master sergeant immediately ordered us to prepare to leave and get our mounts and equipment. He also told us to take the equipment of the other Wild Tempest members not present with us as well, which was a task it seemed nobody besides myself had any real interest in obeying. Either way, we packed up and left, following the road. I asked the master sergeant about whether the threat of mines and traps in the area had been neutralized, and he said yes, and thus we continued onwards.

Indeed, the travel went without issue until we reached a recently burned tauren camp. We stopped, and the master sergeant commanded us to search the camp for anything useful. The others found various supplies which they brought to the master sergeant, and I found a slightly burned but still perfectly readable map, which would prove to be greatly useful later on. While the others were examining our loot, I looked for more, and was ambushed by a lone orc, whom I promptly decapitated. I dragged the corpse to the others, and the master sergeant immediately ordered us to search the camp once more. While I was scouting the camp perimeter, I heard shouts of
hostiles coming from within the camp and I immediately returned to find a battle against three more orcs. The orcs stood no chance and were quickly eliminated. I barely had the time to cast a single death coil which didn't even hit its mark - the Wild Tempest could handle the fight easily even without me.

Having cleared the enemy, we continued on our journey. The rest of it was uneventful, and we reached Honor's Stand without issue. Upon arrival, however, we learned that the outpost was under siege; soon after arriving, we were close to being annihilated by a catapult strike. The master sergeant immediately ordered us to spread out
while he discussed matters with the outpost commander. Soon afterwards, we were ordered to defend the gates which were about to fall. Thus we went to our posts and stood in line, waiting for the gates to fall, everyone besides me dismounted at this point. The gates fell soon after, and the Horde poured in. The Wild Tempest held the line against the enemy, while I used my deathcharger to charge past the enemy and take their commander head on. The commander fell swiftly, but soon another orc's axe hit its mark, and my mount lost half a leg and we crashed to the ground. I got back on my feet, and returned to assist the others, who had noticed the loss of their
commander by then. We quickly mopped up the rest of the wave, in no small part thanks to a mighty spell cast by Huruma. At this point another catapult strike landed next to the main Wild Tempest line and inflicted some damage upon us, but the wounds were of no consequence - everyone could carry on fine. The outpost commander
gave us orders to deal with the Horde's siege catapults while his men took up our post at the gates. This is where the map was useful - it detailed a path on the mountain that led us straight to the catapult's left flank. We took this path and met no resistance apart from a group of scouts whom were quickly dealt with, and ended
up on a ridge overlooking the Horde catapult. Paia levitated us down and we charged against the enemy, catching them completely off guard. In the resulting battle the Horde guards of the catapult were quickly slain, as were their reinforcements. The catapult was also brought down. Shortly afterwards, our final enemy arrived:
A monstrosity of an orc the likes of which I had never seen before, with vile mutations sprouting from his body and power few soldiers can attest to having. The other soldiers called the orc 'Sha-Touched', a term I am not very familiar with. Despite all this, the monstrosity was quickly taken down. The rest of the Horde promptly
retreated in panic, and the siege was lifted without any casualties or major injuries from the Wild Tempest.

I must say I feel that Huruma and the four Death Knights should all have brought their mounts to defend the gates. The five of us would've formed a fearsome cavalry: None can contest the might of a death knight on her deathcharger and Huruma's Nalaa has also proven herself to be nigh unstoppable at the gates of Tol Barad. Indeed, I believe a charge from the five of us would have caught them completely off guard, and destroyed their offense within seconds, especially considering the damage I wrought upon the enemy by myself on my mount. We then could possibly have had an opening to charge forth to destroy the catapults with ease. Either way, the mission was a resounding success, but I believe command should consider employing the Wild Tempest's formidable cavalry in further battles as appropriate, which so far has not really been done.

Among the last standing fortress of the Alliance in Central Kalimdor, Honor's Stand is a large army camp protected by Sentry towers and high, thick and wide stone walls.

In Addition:
-Barricades on the Barrens side entrance
-Flame turret along the side of the Barricade.
-Arcane Wards to block Scrying and reveal Illusions.

The Overgrowth

Date: 16/07
The Mission:
The Tempest aided by the Stormwind Regiment and the Freelancers were to secure any resources that could be used. The area to secure the resources in was located north of the Horde controlled Forward Command.

Mission:

Secure The Overgrowth: Achieved

The forces were divided into three squads each led by Corporal Cynthia, Lance-Corporal Lavian and Sergeant Averheim. The Lance-Corporal led all Death Knights to combat. Corporal Cynthia took the remaining Wild Tempest forces together with the two draenei, there seemed to be problems with the two Draenei obeying the Corporal's orders. Sergeant Averheim took all the Stormwind Regiment forces.

The Sergeant's Frontliner Team:
Private Frades
Corporal Muir
Private Blackmantle
Private Smith
Corporal Ishap

Lance Corporal Lavian's Squad:
Recruit Linyria
Private Kolsova
Private Turander
Private Zibble

Corporal Cynthia's Squad:
Private Huruma
Private Konstantinos
Corporal Xildon

The three frontliner squads went first, slowly heading into the 'jungle' on the north of the barrens. The scout squad followed us close. The first difficulty we encountered in the overgrowth were three blood thirsty raptors, that assaulted Lance-Corporal Dawson's and Corporal Cynthia's squads. My squad flanked the raptors attacking Cynthia, and as we finished them off i rushed together with my squad to secure the forward road. On the forward road we were assaulted by two more raptors that were enraged by the deaths of the other three, one raptor managed to knock me and another Regiment private of our feet. After the raptors have been defeated we noticed that the scouting group has left, and traveled using some other way. We continued moving down the road and heard screams pleading for help, the screams came from two alliance scouts, that were flayed around by huge tendrils. The squads divided themselves and moves to kill the tendrils and rescue the scouts. I noticed the lack of discipline from Huruma and Konstantinos. They ignored Corporal Cynthia's orders and left her squad a few times, joining other squads. When the tendrils were defeated, one scout was dead on the spot, with many broken bones, but the other, which we found to be a tauren rebel scout was still alive, and would be if not for private Konstantinos who provoked the Tauren to attack, which resulted in soldiers having to put the tauren down. We advanced once more, and after some 5 minutes of walking we noticed the ground was shaking more and more, and then the whole frontliner group made of three squads was assaulted by a huge group of scorpids, that were easily crushed by the members of the group. The scorpids kept on coming and coming and after a few minutes in which we crushed them a strange sound came to us, a sound of a flute that came from the mountains. The sound worked strange on the scorpids and it seemed to dismiss them. They all immediately, not counting on what they did, left towards the sound. We moved on, scouting the area around the water reservoir and securing it for future use until we saw movement in the ancient ruins. We neared in, and our soldiers flanked all sides, i came in close to talk with the creature, which came out to be a tauren druid. The druid kept on channeling magic and when we started a conversation he asked us numerous times to help him restore beauty to the barrens, make them lush again. We declined asking about the scorpid attacks and the raptors, and that's when the druid got aggressive. He compared us to the horde and finally after a scream of fury he changed into a black mass. It resembled the look of a sha, but with thousands of red eyes staring at us. All of the squads attacked the druid, and at last when he was exhausted he used up his last move. Attempted to use water elemental-tendrils to pull all the soldiers in the water. It only managed to pull three soldiers, who were then saved at the spot, and the corrupt was killed. once the corrupt was struck for the last time, it shifted sizes back into a Tauren. I ordered the tauren to be tied up, and taken back to camp for interrogation. As the men were getting ready to head back, the tauren choked to death. It's probably obvious of what reasons, a badly tied rope that slid down onto his throat. I am still investigating who tied that. I find the mission a success without any major injuries.

Lieutenant,

Yesterday's mission, for which you presumably have already received a report, has in my experience been a terrible failure. There were no casualties to speak of. Rather, it was a glaring example of the lack of proper military order, structure and discipline within the company. Allow me to deliberate with examples:

Corporal Vanimedle split the frontliner team into command of three Wild Tempest members: Myself, Lance-Corporal Dawson and Sergeant Averheim. Here we immediately see something that in my eyes appears wrong: There was another corporal, Tinkertron, available. Yet Vanimedle specifically chose Dawson to lead over Tinkertron rather than the other way around, which would befit his superior rank. I would expect that generally in the military it is the highest ranking soldiers who lead, and I suggest in this case it was due to personal bias and favoritism; Dawson and Vanimedle have had a close relationship since before Lordaeron's fall.

During the actual mission, Averheim as the highest ranking soldier present was deferring leadership to Dawson as well. When I inquired why, she said she had not heard the briefing and thus did not know what to do. This is a glaring issue; I fully expect the highest ranking officer be actually aware of what we are doing. She, however, never even bothered asking anyone for clarification. Not that the briefing itself was particularly clear; the rest of the group seemed to be confused about what we were to actually do, some saying we were to rendezvous with the scout groups and others that we should be searching for assets to take advantage of. Not good. One's mission should be perfectly clear from the start.

Next, a brief comment: I get the impression that to some of our members, rank is largely irrelevant; I often, like yesterday, see even recruits trying to give out orders despite them not being the one in charge. Recruits trying to take command from actual officers without the officer's consent can only result in confusion.

And there often appears to be a reluctance to follow orders; of my group in the evening, I had ordered us to stick together and stay by my side. To the vindicators Huruma and Konstantinos my words did not seem to have much sway: they often went to walk beside the other groups or even engaged battle without me, and I several times reminded them of my orders which they only seemed to keep in mind for a brief time. The new recruit, Nihilia, however was quite apt at following orders. This appears to be a more general issue in the Wild Tempest, not just restricted to the vindicators. Also, I have issued Konstantinos with an admonition due to him causing the death of the rebel tauren whom we saved. She was clearly in a terrified state when the vindicator spoke of her as a traitor who must be killed. Upon hearing this, she attacked the vindicator out of desperation and was put down by Lavian.

That summarizes my thoughts as for now.

Signed,
Corporal Cynthia

Southern Barrens: The Overgrowth

The Road through Kalimdor [Northern Kalimdor, patch 5.3] Overgr10

16.07.30

Corporal: Celeste Vanimedle

The Briefing:

Scouting party consisting of 157th Company, Stormwind Regiment, Freelancers, and Blades for Hire were to move through the Overgrowth to asscess any potential threats on route to Northwatch in way for the main army moving the following day. Men were also to be keeping eyes peeled and kept watch for any resources we could use in the war effort.

*Key:

157th Company: Wild Tempest
Stormwind Regiment
Freelancers
Blades For Hire

Scouting Team:

Celeste Melody Vanimedle
Salara
Tuomas

Iriel Silversong
Chase
Skyla Applewood
Nasheli Darkchaser

Siegmund Shadow
Tulog Sparkshine
Allonia Miral
Farvyn Thistleblade
Stig Johnathan Radley
Rick Manderson-Greene

Simaria Winter
Soulyna Shadow

The Mission:

Main Objectives:

  • Asscessment of threats in Overgrowth  Achieved

  • Asscessment of natural resources in the area   In Progress

After being briefed on that we would be moving out of Honor's Stand and moving towards Northwatch to scout any possible threats, that might hinder the main army's push in to the Barren's, or to scout any possible resources that the Alliance war effort could use the party departed from the Hold, due East. Given the nature of the Barren's itself, the men were instructed to carry waterskins on them. We didn't know how long this could take, and so we needed to be preparred.

We pushed forwards to the borders of the Overgrowth: A verdant jungle, the air in which is thick and heavy. Wild life in every direction that you turn, as well as an uneasy sense of "being watched", as we crossed the threshold of the grass, rumbling at our feet quickly became aparent, and before we knew it several great vines burst forth from the ground attempting to squeeze the life of the men. It can be ascertained now that the vines "sensed" our approach through vibrations in the earth that our feet gave. When the bulk of the army moves, they will need to either be in small groups, or be prepared to fight the vines.

Growing deeper in to the jungle we spotted what appeared to be an encampment, the structures looking to be of Tauren origins, tents and totems we got as close as we could, Kor'kron seem to be completely missing from the encampment it was most assuredly Rebellion aligned. However that wasn't what I found curious. The wild life seemingly left the Tauren alone, it stands to reason that Tauren Druids have found a way to calm the earth, and the creatures in the Overgrowth itself. This could proove to be of vital importance.

*Recommendation that the elves of Nature's Grasp are notified about this, despite Conover's mis-givings on the Elves. They could help here greatly.

We continued a little futher and began to see more and more small pockets of water, the water itself looked clouded, small eminations of green magic flying from it, certainly not suitable to drink by any means. However those with the know how were instructed to collect vials of the liquid for testing, working in a team and try to figure out if the water was as corrupted as it looked. Whilst collecting samples, the team was attacked by a large elemental of earth, it was dispatched largely down to Simaria's quick thinking of using flame against the plant.

Continuing to press on futher we found ourselves in an open field, no beasts seamt to be present so we took the opportunity to charge through. However the field was littered with dozens on dozens of small yet beautiful wild flowers. The wild flowers pollen was released in to the air as we began to run through, that said pollen proved to be toxic in the sense it caused an intense sense of drowsiness and fatigue. Our men began to quite literally fall at there feets in to comatose due to the pollen, at the edges of the field Raptor were presented, mutated by the Overgrowth's nature it would seem.

*Recommendation: Every member of the Alliance push that enters the Overgrowth is to wear a gasmask in future to prevent such pollen from ever being an issue.

However they were calculated and intelligent specimen, waiting for the soldiers to drop before charging forth to kill. The pollen apparently not effecting them. There genetic mutations having rendered them immune. Those of the team that were all ready wearing masks or were able to resist the effects had to deal with the savage beasts. We managed to do so and pressed on futher through the dank jungle.

We proceeded and found a small bridge, it seemed to have been constructed by the Tauren or other such Horde affliations. However, we were more cautious. Ropes were attached to Lieutenant Silversong, she being the lightest person in the unit to cross solely. Incase of a trouble spot, Silversong would immediately be pulled back to the safety of the main group. Our suspicions were correct, as Silversong crossed two large vines attempted to entwine her and choke the life from her. We managed to get her to safety, and launch volleys towards the vines that quickly retreated in to the earth.

Finding a way around, we began to see the Overgrowth clearing, in its place however were large bramble thorns, accompanied by the sounds of sniffing snouts and stamping hooves. As we pressed forwards, the front members of the team triggered a rather primitive net trap that decended on them, when out of the shadows in Ambush several Quilboar launched an attack. Though they had the element of suprise, our numbers saved us as well as the untimely arrival of two Dwarves that had just landed at Northwatch.

Proceeding quickly to Northwatch we managed to gain an assessment of the Keep, it was under light-moderate siege but given its defences it would last till tommorow eve, and the bulk of the main Alliance army's arrival.

Issued To:

All Corporals, Sergeant Averheim, Master-Sergeant Eodain, Lieutenant Inran.

By orders of Rear Admiral Conover, we are to begin re-supply, re-armament, and be ready for battle at a moments notice. Whilst we drove the Horde from breaking the Siege on Northwatch Hold, they are still very much present in the immediate area. Including:

  • Supply Blockades by ship preventing dock movement.

  • Horde still present in the outpost across the ravine.

We're to be ready to move at a moments notice, keep the men ready and on point. Confirmation dates on when the combat will start again I'm not sure, so for now it is simply preparation time... Let it be known however when I spoke to Conover on these matters she was rather pre-occupied that we had no "alcohol" for her. So you may very well need to keep ears open if she changes this quickly.

Hope this helps.

Corporal Celeste Vanimedle.
