Gilneas: Cultist hunt part one
Date: 26/05/31 sdp
The Briefing:
After the spymaster's briefing about the Yxzizstgfz, our immediate orders were to investigate rumors of a cult in Gilneas. Instantaneous travel was given to us in the form of a portal, and we set to work at once.
The Mission: We emerged from the portal to the shoreline of Gilneas. None of us had a map because we did not know where we were headed, and we had expected Keag to lead us, which was a slight inconvenience. Albert however knew the land, and led us to the city, where we met several Gilnean guardsmen. They warned us of Forsaken attacks and did not know of any cult hideouts. They then allowed us into the city. In the city itself we ran into victims of a Forsaken ambush and proceeded to hunt down the Forsaken. Soon enough we stumbled into an ambush and defeated them after a brief battle. After the battle, the task force chose to move to Albert's nearby home for the night, which went without issue.
Soldiers Present Sergeant Elrua Corporal Nihilia Corporal Shiiri Private Albert Crownwell Private Tanya Rein Recruit Doowor Darkblood Recruit Zarrek Mission Conclusion:
After a brief, unsuccessful search in Gilneas, Wild Tempest settled down in Albert's home and are safe for now. It is evident the Forsaken are going to make our search difficult. I believe command needs to formulate a proper plan for our investigation so that we do not end up wandering aimlessly around the dangerous city. Corporal Shiiri, Morale Officer

| Reserved for second event, do edit something in! Or just put it behind this if you're faster than event three, and I'll delete this. | |

Gilneas: Cultist Hunt: Part 3
Date: 31/05/31 sdp
The Briefing:
Interrogation of the boy brought in a few nights ago bore fruit, he indicated that the Cult may have some connection to Emberstone mine. Sergeant Xildon dispatched a small squad to investigate.
Soldiers Present
Corporal "Dead Eye" Salara Private Ara Recruit Glalana Recruit Zarek Magnum Mercenary Shadesprocket The Mission:
We arrived at Emberstone mine in short order and with no difficulties. There was initially some minor confusion amongst the squad as to why we were there, as no information was provided just an order to deploy. Once I have given a short briefing with what little information I had we entered the mine. Almost immediately we came across two "Undead" whom cowered at the sight of us. They claimed to be prisoners, the true forms hidden by an illusion and their wills bound by some foul magic. Glalana confirmed this to be true but was unable to undo the illusion. It was then one of them attacked Shadesprocket as if forced to by unseen hands. For their saftey and that of the squad I ordered they be rendered unconscious. We continued on finding another Undead sat at a table with two strange dolls. He made the same claim as the two before but we found his claims too suspicious. As we moved to apprehend him, he revealed himself to be the puppet master behind the two at the entrance, bringing them against us in a Zombie like state. My self, Ara and Shadesprocket held them back while Zarek and Glalana delt with the Undead. Sadly during the course of our defence one of them was killed, upon death the illusion faded revealing him to be a Gilnean civilian. The Undead puppeteer was defeated by decapitating him and blowing up his body, leaving only his head which oddly still lived and would not shut up. He revealed they had more prisoners in the mine, but they may be dead. With all haste we headed deeper in and came across a Worgen prisoner about to be executed while what appeared to be the leader watched on. We quickly dispatched the "Undead" guards, executioner and Leader, while doing so the Worgen ran for cover behind us. Regrettably this too turned out to be an illusion. Once dead the four "Undead" were revealed to be yet more Gilnean civilians, there was no sign of the Worgen or the head of the Undead. With nothing left but corpses we left as Glalana administered last rights for the fallen.
Mission Conclusion:
A complete failure. Five civilians dead, no clues as to where the Cult may be or what the artefact is and we cannot be sure if the Undead or Worgen there were really there at all or part of the illusion. We have spoken with Sergeant Xildon and he agrees that precautions -must- be taken in future to see through illusion magic to prevent a repeat of this incident.

- Final report - Date: 15/06/31 sdp
Summary of events following my last report - Following our failed investigation into the mine Lieutenant Keag Strongbrew claimed to have one more lead to investigate. He led what remained of the Task Force out of Gilneas and across the continent to the Ghostlands, where apparently the Cultists had been operating. Despite our best efforts to remain undetected while infiltrating the Elven lands, we were forced to engage a number of their Farstriders. Ultimately ending with the destruction of a small Farstrider encampment and serious injuries to the few members left with the Task Force. A few days after taking shelter in an abandoned Troll village on the edge of the Eversong Woods a carrier pigeon arrived with orders for us to withdraw.
Final assessment of mission - A disastrous failure. Throughout the search the artefact many members of the Task Force, both Officers and Soldiers disappeared or left. This was ultimately what doomed our mission from the start, a lack of man power for the investigation, a lack of leadership left the men confused and a lack of information left us fumbling around without a clear objective.
Due to the failure of our mission and almost causing an incident with the Horde, Command has chosen to disband Wild Tempest. All remaining Soldiers have been discharged or reassigned and any remaining assets have been reclaimed. Corporal “Dead Eye” Salara Sniper/Scout
